High water and heat resistance for long-term preservation
High humidity and heat affect the preservation state of images and can cause significant loss of printed images. Durico’s special coating technology allows the printed image to be preserved for a long time. The high-density and high-gloss grades are UV-cured and have an extremely glossy surface, extremely high optical density, and perfect water and heat resistance for long-term preservation. In addition, this UV-cured layer allows thermal dye to stay within this layer and prevents any damage to the thermal head due to dye adhesion.
Perfect match with the print head
Durico uses the same material (Yupo film) and applies the same coating technologies for the production of direct thermal synthetic films. The coated film is calendered to obtain a smooth surface and homogeneous image quality, making the film flatter and reducing thickness. The smooth surface of Durico thermal media ensures a perfect match with any thermal printer head for long life and prevents unnecessary noise.
Minimal curling
Durico media features a backside coating for minimal curling and uniform printing. The flat surfaces of the printed media ensure excellent photographic image quality and easy archiving.
High-resolution image printing
Durico media provides a wide gradation of grayscale reproduction. Considering printer characteristics, Durico has developed a grayscale scale perfectly matched to the printer, allowing detailed images to be represented. A steeper Y curve for energy variation and higher optical density at maximum energy demonstrate higher image resolution with accurate grayscale reproduction of original images.
Excellent tearing properties
Durico uses Yupo’s special-grade film for excellent tearing properties. Once torn, Durico media is cut straight across in the transverse direction without damaging any printed image.
Antistatic treatment
Durico media is antistatic-treated. With this treatment, risks from electrostatic energy buildup—which can damage and destroy vital electronic components in the printer head due to accumulated electrostatic energy—are eliminated.
