The Digital Versatile Disk, commonly called "DVD", is the most popular and well-known optical media for the video format, but due to its high memory capacity it can be used for multimedia presentations, software, etc.
The most common formats are the single layer DVD5 which can hold a 120 minute video or 4.7 Gb of data and the dual layer DVD9 with a capacity of 8.5 gb. There are other formats, which are not very widespread, such as DVD10 (9.4 Gb) and DVD18 (17 Gb).
